Grape vines - we went looking for landscapes!

The funny thing about driving when you’re on holidays, is that you can change your planned destination on the fly.  And mostly it doesn’t matter.

We decided to leave Avignon on a particular road, couldn’t find it and of course was on another road, but it was still interesting. And so we decided to go somewhere else.

This was a few days ago, and the wind they call the Mistral was very strong. It was also freezing, and the middle of the afternoon we decided not to go back to Avignon. Instead, in this small town called Malaucene, I chose a hotel. It was open, but nobody there. I took their business card and gave them a ring. Those Pimsleur language disks are fantastic. I knew how to say in French, I would like a room for 2 people for tonight please. He even understood me, but asked in French ‘are you in Malaucene’. I couldn’t understand him, so he had to ask me that in English. Anyway, we spent the night in quite a quiet 2 star hotel at Malaucene called le Blueberry. And got some sleep.
