Just a little about me

Carmel James
Barraba, NSW, Australia
A retired art teacher starting a new life, I have so many interests, I think it might be fun to share them with my family and friends through this blog. I don’t mind if a few strangers look in occasionally too … welcome!
It never occurred to me that I could, but since just before I retired, I started to learn a second language. And it seems I can! Well, actually it turns out that any one can, the secret is to really want to. So since late 2006 I’ve been learning Mandarin! And now I’m also learning French! Naturally, some of my posts will be about that.
Sometimes I might make reference to my twin sister and her husband, Shirley and Bob Peters. Shirley is an accomplished artist and Bob an accomplished photographer. They live at Putney in Sydney and we often stay with them when we have to go to Sydney. So naturally some of my blog posts will be about what Shirley and Bob are doing, especially if we are there, and can get involved. Their web sites are listed in the links on the right hand column of this site.

narr, everyone has a surfboard! I can’t remember what was in it then, but I know I like collecting stuff on beaches, so it was probably full of loot.

That looks like fun! I like to walk the beach just as much as swim in it! xx
