A little about me
I was born in Sydney, Australia in 1953. I grew up in
the Western suburbs of that city, and have lived most of my adult life
in a small country town, Barraba.
This Web site reflects a few of my many preoccupations, and it will
continue to grow with lots more interesting things ... as I get more
time.
This is the team of people responsible for the Now Read This programme.

Now Read This was originally developed by Geoffrey Falkenmire in his early
teaching career in the mid 1950's
It has been in continuous use since then and has evolved through many
stages.
It has been used by many institutions including the Adult Literacy Service
and Adult Migrant Education in New South Wales, Australia.

Jon Falkenmire is a qualified art teacher who developed an interest in
the production of teaching aids many years ago.
He worked on the illustrations in an edition of the Now Read This books
in the late 1970s.
Over the first years of the new century, Jon has been translating the
programme into digital visual form.
C. J. James Dip (Art) Ed.
Carmel James, also a qualified art teacher, is now working in a library
and resource centre in a public school.
My part in this project is the transposing of the visual files into interactive
movies and the linking them into a complete programme with student tracking
software.
