Frequently Asked Questions

What are you selling?

3 very different products: A digital programme to teach English Literacy, ceramic masks and skulls, and Chinese paintings.

Who are you?

I'm an art teacher and teacher/librarian. I work in a small country school, and spend my spare time making things.

How I can contact you?

phone, mail or e-mail is fine - see the Contact Us page

What is free on your site?

Many separate components of the English Literacy Course called Now Read This. Each one is a shockwave movie. They all have obvious links to the Now Read This Web site embedded in them. You may use these any way you like, even give them away from your Web site.

May I use your programmes on my web site?

Yes!

Why are you giving them away and letting us use it freely? What is in it for you?

If you use our programmes on your Web site, than we appreciate it because it is like advertising for us. You are showing your customers or clients our work. Each programme has a link to Now Read This. If you use a free programme, than it is a large and obvious link. If you buy a programme, it is a very small and discrete link.

How will your programmes affect my computer?

You will need to install the Shockwave Plugin from Macromedia. There is a link to the download on the Technical Information page.

How close are you to finishing the full progamme of Now Read This?

Most of the graphics are finished, but we have yet to make most of the sound files. Luckily the script will be very complete when we get to do these, and it might take just a few months ... I hope. It has been a few years in production so far!

Why are some of the downloads such big files?

They are primarily designed for a CD-ROM and we have used quality bitmap images.

What are the masks like? Can I buy one?

The masks are made of fired clay, and hence are fragile. However, I can pack them very carefully, and I guarantee that they will arrive any where in the world unbroken.

Who would want a skull?

I am continually amazed at the diverse group of people who buy the skulls. Often they are presents, because they are unusual and very interesting. Usually they are for people who have an interest in that particular animal. Many are used in art classes in still live arrangements, for drawing studies, paintings or photography.
Once again I guarantee their safe delivery.

What about the freight charges?

Be warned - freight charges for overseas is very expensive. It is about $Aus35 to send a parcel to England from Australia. Please contact me for the total price before you purchase.

Are the paintings mounted or framed?

No. The paintings are a rolled up piece of paper. They are packed in a cardboard tube for mailing.

When I make a payment on your site, it seems to go to a different web site. Is this supposed to happen?

Yes. Ezimerchant are responsible for the payment side of this web site. They have secure certificates to guarentee your details are transferred across the internet in a totally safe manner.

When will my orders be shipped?

Once payment is made, orders are shipped within 24 hours, or a bit longer if on a weekend, because the post office is not open. Remember that the digital programmes of Now Read This can be downloaded immediately, any time.

How can I be sure that I can trust you?

You have all of my details. You may check that they are right by looking in the phone book (which is on the web!) If I do stuff up, please let me know and I shall endeavour to fix it!
